Battery heaters provide an easy to fit yet effective solution for maintaining battery performance in cold conditions. Batteries rely on chemical reactions to generate electric current, but these reactions are affected by low ambient temperature. When batteries are exposed to cold environments, their internal temperature can also decrease, which slows down the rate of the chemical reaction and reduces the amount of current they can produce. This can make the battery seem like it has run out of power, even though it still has some charge left. This problem can be more severe in situations below -20°C, where the chemical reactions can be so sluggish and weak that the battery can barely function.
However, if the batteries are equipped with a heating mechanism such as our silicone heaters, they can maintain their optimal temperature and performance. This will also enhance their lifetime and efficiency, as well as their charging rate when they are used in extreme temperatures. Using a silicone battery heater would also improve the reliability and performance of your battery.
They can be customised to bespoke shapes, sizes and fixing methods to suit a broad range of voltages and wattages. In addition, sensors, limiters, and thermal fuses can be integrated to allow control and operation in a wide range of temperatures.
